The Journey Began Here

This project started in 2020, as an idea, shortly after my wife and I finished with our COVID-19 quarantine. Unfortunately, we lost my sister-in-law whom we were quarantining with.

Even though funeral arrangements continued as normal, the more challenging part came when things began settling down. For instance, we needed access to her phones and laptop, but we did not know the passwords. There were other documents and personal arrangements that would have been useful to know about in order to continue where she left off.

Knowing the kind of person she was, I think she would have loved to send her last wishes to friends and family. Whether giving instructions on how to handle certain things or just sending a feisty message. Perhaps there are people she wanted to reach out to, people we don’t know that played an important role in her life. Who knows?

Hence, I started building this project as a tribute to her. But in a practical sense, I would love to send messages to my, now 6 children, which they will only receive after I pass away. Yes, I have a will that is kept in trust somewhere, but life is more than legalities and bequeathing assets. When I die, I would like to send messages to friends. I want to send trash to my childhood friend, who has become a brother. I want to send a love letter to my wife, a kind of spiritual hug, if you will.

But more than that, I know I am not the only one who wishes to reach out to loved ones after passing on. If you are anything like me, then welcome. Let’s build and grow this project together. In the next post, I will be sharing our roadmap – the path we will take in growing this project, and there will be many opportunities for you to participate in a meaningful way.

For now, let’s leave it here. Chat soon.

P.S

May her soul rest in peace
